Police: Motorist Charged With DWI After Crashing Into Pole In Yorktown

A Northern Westchester man was nabbed for alleged DWI after crashing his vehicle into a pole, according to police.

Rocco Gentile, 46, of Yorktown, was arrested on Thursday, Nov. 21, after Yorktown Police responded to a report of a crash on Ridge Street, the department said.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found Gentile standing beside a Honda Accord that hit a utility pole, police said.

During an investigation, officers found that Gentile was allegedly driving while intoxicated and failed to maintain his lane, police said.

He was arrested and charged with DWI, DWI with a blood alcohol level higher than .08 percent and failure to maintain lane.

He was released on his own recognizance to a responsible party and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 5.
